Otto Addo has emphatically maintained that the Black Stars are not on a mission of vengeance going into the team’s last group match against Uruguay in the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The squad’s head coach claimed that although Ghana has a bitter history with Uruguay, they will enter the game with the goal of moving on to the next round as their top priority.
Otto Addo made it very clear that Ghana would not seek retaliation against the South Americans after the latter cruelly ousted Ghana in the 2010 World Cup quarterfinal.
“It will be very difficult, but I am confident that we can win this game.” “I’m not a guy that thinks much of revenge,” he said at the post-match.
The German-trained coach claimed he has a gut feeling Ghana would win and doesn’t need to focus about getting even to finish the game.
“It was a really, really long time ago that this incident happened and I am a strong believer that if you don’t seek too much revenge on this kind of thing sometimes you get the blessings.”
After Ghana’s 3:2 win against South Korea, Coach Otto Addo became the first Ghanaian coach to win a World Cup match.
