Abiba Azu, a Ghanaian female beautician, has become the latest online celebrity after styling the hair of some Black Stars players for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
She has been doing the hair of the Black Star players before every game. The business of the hardworking woman has expanded as she has become the go-to person for hair locks amongst Ghanaian athletes.
Abiba explained to Stacy Amoateng on the Restoration show that she grew up in Togo and moved to Accra at the age of ten, where she worked as a head porter ‘Kayayoo’ before deciding to study hair styling to master a profession.
She has over 16 years of expertise styling and offering professional touch and treatment to her clients’ hair.
Many players, including Ghana’s all-time leading scorer, Asamoah Gyan, and others, have had their hair styled by Abiba.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup appears to have opened further doors of opportunity for Abiba Locks, as she dressed the hair of various German national team players, including Bayern Munich’s Serge Gnabry and Southampton’s Armel Bella.
She has also worked with American rapper Jidenna, Fuse ODG, Fiifi Coleman, and a slew of other celebrities.
