The Methodist Church of Ghana has called the Ghana Education Ministry’s bluff on their order to Wesley Girls’ to encourage Muslim students to fast in school.
The Methodist Church of Ghana issued a press conference in support of the school’s headmistress for declining to enable Muslim students to fast in school.
According to the press release of the church, the school has been following this rule for the past 186 years and would not stand down for anybody because previous Muslim students followed it.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) ordered the school to encourage Muslim students to fast over the weekend.
This came after a father stormed the school to remove his child due to the school’s policy of not allowing Muslims to fast during Ramadan while at school.
