Big Akwes, an actor and broadcaster from Ghana, has shared his thoughts on the result of Ghana vs. Portugal match that took place in Qatar as part of the 2018 Fifa World Cup.
The actor who was in the UTV studios to watch the match said that he was extremely confident that the Black Stars would be defeated by Portugal.
Big Akwes drew on Ghana’s past to illustrate why he has remained so steadfast in his conviction that the country will come out on the losing end of the competition.
He stated that since it is common knowledge that the Portuguese ruled us throughout our colonial era and have passed down their expertise ever since there was no way that we were going to be able to triumph over them.
Big Akwes also placed blame for Ghana’s loss on the trip that the President took to Qatar to congratulate the Ghanaian team before the game. He said that the trip caused the team to lose momentum.
The Black Stars of Ghana were defeated by the Selecao das Quinas of Portugal by a score of 3 to 2. It was a dramatic match that saw Ghana come back twice to try to rescue a point for themselves.
