A pretty lady who came to Accra to seek for employment was abused and thrown out by a man she met.

She shared her story in an interview with SvTv.

My name is Monica, but my nickname is Monic. Things were really difficult for me in my village, so I wanted and come to Accra to look for jobs. Through God’s grace, I was able to get a restaurant job, which helped me a little bit. Through my work at the restaurant, I met a guy who told me he likes me.

So, as time progressed, we became friends and eventually fell in love, so I packed all of my belongings and moved in with him, despite the fact that I had nowhere to sleep. The man advised me to quit working in the restaurant and that he will find me a better career.

I was already at home doing nothing a month after he ordered me to quit working at the restaurant; when I questioned him about the position he said he would find for me, he told me to wait, but he is still working on it. Three months had passed and he still had not found me a career, so I chose to look for one on my own.

I told him about it when I got a position, and he told me to leave because he had already told me to get a work, but I did not because he was not willing to get me a job after he made me quit the restaurant job for the past month.

We did not have sex for the duration of my relationship with him because I was checking him to see whether he was faithful and respectful to be with, then one day he told me not to go to work because he had something to discuss with me, so that day he coerced me to have sex with me and then he packed all of my belongings and left her room.

Really, I was so sad that I had lost all faith, but now, by God’s grace, I have my own job where I sell women’s and men’s clothing in my own store.

What I would teach my fellow women is that they do not place their faith in men, but rather fight hard for what they have because it is theirs. Thank you so much.
