Nigerian singer, Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, has expressed concern over the delay in burying his late son, stating that it is the reason why some individuals have claimed to see the deceased singer. Mohbad, whose real name is Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, died on September 12, 2023, and was buried the following day. However, his corpse was exhumed by state police for autopsy to determine the cause of death.
In an interview with Stams TV, Mr. Aloba expressed his frustration over the duration of the autopsy, saying he was not informed it would take this long. He also mentioned that the delay is causing the singer’s spirit to be unsettled, which is why people are claiming to have seen him.
“I’ll call the senior police officer after this interview and ask if they’ve taken all they need from Mohbad so the burial can be done. A lot of people are saying he’s appearing to them, and it’s because he hasn’t been buried,” Mr. Aloba said.
His body has been in the morgue since the exhumation. Aloba called for the burial preparations to begin as soon as possible, asserting that the autopsy process should not subject his son’s corpse to undue suffering. He also acknowledged that he and his family are powerless against the government’s decision regarding the necessity of the autopsy.
