Gabby Otchere-Darko, a lawyer and long-time supporter of the New Patriotic Party, feels that while things do not seem to be going well right now, Ghana is still in better shape than it was previously.
Ghana, he claims, has come a long way, as shown by the democracy the country has practiced since 1992, but the dream of Ghana has yet to be realized.
Gabby Otchere-Darko acknowledged that Ghana had been severely affected by COVID-19 and its associated strains on the economies of nations around the world, and that the country should have done better.
Despite these challenges, the country can look back on the years of military rule and government changes and infer that Ghana is on the road to growth and prosperity, and that things are better than they were.
Besides that, a segment of Ghanaians seems dissatisfied with the country’s current situation. They have been pleading with the government to repair the nation.
“After some 4/5 military regimes, & 4 republics, it’s fair to say, the Ghanaian promise is yet to be fully fulfilled. Also clear is that, despite the global impact of Covid-19 plus our own inherent challenges as a nation, Ghana is in a far better shape today than previously,” Gabby Otchere-Darko tweeted.
