Former Ghanaian international footballer and ex-Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan, has responded to recent reports regarding his divorce settlement with his ex-wife, Gifty Gyan. The news, initially reported by Ghpage.com on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, revealed that the three-year legal battle between the couple has finally reached a resolution.
Earlier, Gyan had disputed the paternity of his three children with Gifty. However, after various tests disproved his claims, the court mandated him to pay a monthly stipend of GHc25,000 to his former wife. Additionally, Gyan’s properties in the UK and Ghana, along with one of his business ventures – a gas station in Prampram, and a BMW car, have been awarded to Gifty.
Reacting to the news, Gyan took to Twitter, quoting a tweet by renowned Ghanaian lifestyle blogger and writer, Ameyaw Debrah. He wrote, “If I have 10pts and I keep quiet cos I’m matured, and you have 2 pts and you going find public sympathy, then it’s cool. You are very funny. This is deep so think about it.”
The cryptic response has led to speculations about other possible victories for Gyan in the divorce settlement that are yet unknown to the public.
